Week 2 of Soundcheck Live entertained the Lucky Strike crowd with a musical smorgasbord of talent and songs.

Along with the resident houseband, consisting of Steve Ferlazzo – Keyboards/Vocals (Avril LavigneTribe of Judah), Glen Sobel – Drums (Alice Cooper), Steve Fekete – Guitars (Vertical HorizonAvril Lavigne), Derek Frank – Bass (Shania Twain) and  Carl Restivo – Vocals/Guitar (Perry Farrell‘s Satellite Party), the guest performers and regular contributors shined brightly.

Up first as special guests were John Biasha and Joey Sykes (The Babys) performing two of their classics, “Midnight Rendezvous” and “Head First”.  The rest of this week’s special guests were a rhythm section’s dream featuring sets by Chris Wyse on his upright electric Bass (The Cult) and Bryce Soderberg, vocals and bass (Lifehouse).  Also joining the mix were Mark Schulman (PINK) and Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson) both taking their turns behind the drumkit.

Continuing the theme of variety, the revolving bands tackled their own arrangements of songs by Nirvana, “Heart Shaped Box”, Simple Minds, “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, Van Halen, “Why Can’t This Be Love”, Peter Gabriel, “Sledghammer” with a great assist from the Highland Horns, led by Mandy Faddis, and even Spinal Tap’s, “Tonight I’m Gonna Rock You Tonight”.

Another week in the books and it’s already time for Take 3…
