Hollywood, CA-  Music, poetry, birthday cake and the decorating of John Lennon’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star will take place as Lennon and Beatles fans of all ages are invited to come together at 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 9 to remember and honor the late legendary singer, songwriter and peace advocate on his 76th birthday.
Lennon’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star is located in front of the Capitol Records Tower Building alongside individual stars from his former Beatles band members, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.  The address is 1750 Vine Street, Los Angeles 90028, just north of Hollywood Blvd.
The free afternoon festivities will begin with a ‘Circle of Peace’ as fans join hands around Lennon’s star listening to the positive message of his popular peace anthem ‘Imagine’.  The peace circle will be followed by a special highlighted birthday cake cutting ceremony.  Three popular radio hosts have been invited to share the cake-cutting honors:  Chris Carter, KLOS FM radio host of ‘Breakfast With the Beatles’, Les Perry, KCSN FM radio host of ‘Saturday With the Beatles’, and SiriusXM radio host Jim Ladd.
Lennon and Beatles fans are invited to bring flowers, candles and other mementos to help decorate Lennon’s star. Fans are also invited to perform songs and poetry at an ‘open mic’ set up next to his star.
Just prior to the start of the event, John Lennon Walk of Fame Star Polisher Dennis Garling and his assistants will clean and polish Lennon’s star to ready it for the special birthday celebration.
Fans will be singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to both John Lennon as well as John and Yoko Ono’s son Sean Lennon, whose birthday is the same day as his dad. Sean Lennon turns 41 on October 9.
