Indie-Folk band Fleet Foxes played the Greek Theater Friday night The band formed in 2006 in Seattle, WA and still consists of founding members Robin Pecknold (Lead Vocals), Skyler Skjelset (Guitar), Casey Wescott (Keys) along with bassist Christian Wargo (since 08), upright bassist Morgan Henderson (since 2010), and touring drummer Christopher Icasiano who just joined this year. Since 2008 Fleet Foxes has released four studio albums and one live album. Their self-titled debut album was ranked as Rolling Stone’s Best Album of the Decade. The tour began in their hometown June 23rd.
The opening act was Tim Bernardes. Fleet Foxes played a 24-song set beginning with “Wading in Waist-high water. The encore consisted of “For a Week or Two,” “Going-to-the-Sun Road” with Bernardes, and “Helplessness Blues.” Fleet Foxes are a great band and are incredible live.
The next stop was the Santa Barbara Bowl tonight followed by the Greek Theater in Berkeley Sunday night. The tour runs through September including dates in the U.K. and Europe.
