The summer of 2016 has proven classic rock is alive and well with regards to the showcasing around Los Angeles of some of the top tier tribute bands having graced the stage of the historic FOX Theater in Pomona CA. Taking their cues from the very successful and popular television program titled “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” on AXS TV, the bands booked into the Fox by Talent Coordinator/Booker Gil Mendiaz have all been featured on the TV show in the hope that the adage “if you book them, they will come” will prove very prophetic. And the fans of these bands have indeed showed up in support of their favorites. This past weekend two of these groups took the stage and their television crowns were on complete display proving their worth and rocking their respective tributes proudly. Mirage – Visions of Fleetwood Mac with Michelle Tyler in her singular role as the embodiment of Stevie Nicks has indeed taken her tribute and made it all her own. Even praised by Nicks herself it’s without question a worthy blessing indeed. The Petty Breakers – A Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heart breakers is a band that needs to be seen and heard to understand how great they are at recreating the best and the deepest cuts of what is now considered one of the best classic rockers who even now still creates fantastic rock & roll music. Tribute band fans hope The Fox Theater continues this summer tradition into 2017 and beyond.
