In a celebrated rarity within the tribute band community The Fab Four’s Ardy Sarraf brought his celebrated “Wingsband – A Tribute to Paul McCartney & Wings” into The Hangar inside the Orange County Fair this past weekend, a concert that pays tribute to the post Beatles musical career of the legendary “Paulie”. A musical review unlike any other complete with a horn section that fills out many of those classic McCartney tunes. Ardy Sarraf is a sight to behold in his role as MACCA and his band is not bad either. With the wonderful Christine Rosander as his Linda McCartney along with members of the Beatles tribute community, Wingsband fleshes out a plethora of McCartnery hits such as “Band on the Run”, “Live & Let Die”, “Silly Love Songs” and on and on. What’s equally amazing and completely satisfying is watching and listening to the depth & breath of how much time and effort Ardy has put in to “selling” the part. Often uncanny in his portrayal of Mr McCartney, that I found myself often smiling at being sold on what I was watching. The only criticism is that Wingsband doesn’t perform more often but it is understandable knowing all the parts to this band are not always free to make that happen. But when it does come together it is definitely a treat to behold. Find then on Facebook or on the web at http://www.thewingsband.com/
