I spent a good portion of my year in a bowling alley…….. and I didn’t even bowl a single frame!!

Around NAMM 2015, a jam kicked up in Hollywood at the Lucky Strike Live at Hollywood and Highland.  That was now an entire year ago.

The show has featured everything from local and up and coming talent to national acts and many living legends.   And some of these legendary musicians became regular “jammers”.

Sometime in April, it had evolved into the “Ultimate Jam” and there were close to 50 of them total in the year with thousands of performers, tons of attendees.

Although the DLR reunion didn’t happen, Billy Sheehan jammed with Gregg Bissonette earlier in the year.

There have also been themed shows and shows dedicated to the music of Beatles Van Halen.   In April, Phil X threw down with Matt Starr and Daniel Spree for some songs by The Drills and did an awesome Version of “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” by Van Halen.

In May, Nuno Bettencourt showed up and rocked with Jonathan Moffett, Steve Ferlazzo and many others and has appeared regularly since, including his appearance tomorrow night.

The entire band has played there.

Michael Starr from Steel Panther joined Ray Luzier (appearing tomorrow night) with Ferlazzo, Stephen Chesey and Marty O’Brien on some Van Halen.

Nuno, Joe Retta and Billy rocked on Burn with Ferlazzo and Starr.

Bass hero Stu Hamm also made n appearance

Elisa Furr is a Celine Dion impersonator, so it was a welcome relief when she showed up and rocked out to Whitesnake and Journey.  Accompanied by Howie Simon and the UJN house band of Mitch Perry, Chuck Wright, Ferlazzo and Matt Starr, she hit some notes that were out of this world.

Fyfe Monroe closed out one of the weeks with a great rendition of “Heartbreaker” (not the Led Zeppelin version).

There were tons of great moments –  these are just a few.

The winning T-shirt of the year goes to Tommy Vext, who rocked out on Pantera tune with Ray Luzier, Marty O’Brien on bass and Ira Black and Doc Coyle on guitar (they also celebrated Rita Haney’s b-day, who was in attendance):
