TOP TRIBUTES TO MOTLEY CRUE, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, ALICE COOPER, OZZY OSBOURNE/ BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC and U2.
On August 14, 2014, Larry Cornwall was rushed to the hospital due to problems with his heart. He underwent surgery, and has a long road back to recovery.
Larry has appeared on National TV with Alice in Cooperland – an ultimate celebration to Alice Cooper’s music where Larry plays Alice Cooper, and True 2 Crüe – a tribute to Motley Crüe, where Larry plays drums/ the part of Tommy Lee.
Both bands were handpicked by Katie Daryl, the producer and host of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, to perform live on AXS TV. To show her support for Larry and all the bands on the bill, Katie Daryl will be a special guest host of the event, with other rumored guests and surprises to be announced soon.
When Alice Cooper himself heard about his surgery, he sent Larry a personal video message.
And it was no shocker that several weeks later Larry was already back on his feet and performing with his bands.
On September 22, during an all-star benefit concert held at the Moorpark Country Club, Larry’s dream finally came true: he met Alice Cooper in person and thanked him for the message he sent.
Unfortunately, even after insurance covered a good portion of his surgery costs, Larry’s co-payments and growing medical expenses to aid in his recovery is a considerable amount of money.
To assist him and his family with his ongoing medical bills, The Gaslamp and Music Zirconia have organized a benefit concert that will take place on January 10 at The Gaslamp Bar and Grill in Long Beach CA.
The show will feature seven of the top tribute bands that spanned across all four seasons of The Word’s Greatest Tribute Bands by AXS TV:
TRUE 2 CRUE – A TRIBUTE TO MOTLEY CRUE
THE IRON MAIDENS – A TRIBUTE TO IRON MAIDEN
DAMAGE INC. – TRIBUTE TO METALLICA
ALICE IN COOPERLAND – Tribute To Alice Cooper
OZZMANIA – TRIBUTE TO OZZY OSBOURNE/ BLACK SABBATH
All the proceeds from the event are will aid in offsetting Larry’s hospital bills.
If you are not able to attend the show, but still wish to help, you can contribute to the cause via a fund for Larry and can also purchase Larry Palooza T-shirts at Pike Apparel to wear them now or to the show!
Got something to say? Go for it!
