This show took place following 10 days of horrible wild fires across Los Angeles county. If there’s one thing that can bring people together in times like this it is music. With many shows cancelled since the fires began January 7th, this legendary night still happened. This show was jam packed with hits like Atlanta Rhythm Section’s “Champagne Jam,” their cover of Classics IV “Spooky,” and “So Into You.” Back in 1970 Atlanta Rhythm Section formed with members of The Candymen and Classics IV and would be a studio band for other artists. By 1972 they released their debut album. Of the original lineup Rodney Justo remains a member.
Last year marked the 50th anniversary of Firefall which formed in Boulder, CO. Firefall has had a number of lineup changes and still consists of founding guitarist Jock Bartley and the second longest member is drummer Sandy Ficca (since 1984). Firefall played hits such as “Cinderella,” “Strange Way,” and “You Are the Woman.”
Walter Egan also has a career spanning over 50 years and has been releasing albums since 1977. Egan performed a set including hits “Hot Summer Nights,” his cover of Spirit’s “I Got a Line On You,” and “Magnet & Steel.”
