| D’Angelico Guitars announced an all-new signature model with emerging online guitar sensation Giacomo Turra. The Excel Series Giacomo Turra Bedford SH is a unique variation on the brand’s semi-solid “Bedford SH” design, featuring Supro Gold Field pickups, a Wilkinson tremolo and 1960s-inspired aesthetics. Giacomo first began working with D’Angelico Guitars in 2019, performing with and endorsing the Deluxe Bedford SH, Atlantic and DC models before collaborating with the D’Angelico Product Development team to find his signature sound. As an early adopter of its standard counterpart, Giacomo wanted to expand the tonal palate of the Bedford SH to offer even more of the undeniably funky tones for which he has become known. “Every time I pick up a D’Angelico—the way they look, the way they sound, and the way they feel—I’m always inspired to play something different.” – Giacomo Turra The Giacomo Turra Bedford SH is partly defined by the inclusion of the all-new Supro Gold Field pickup in the bridge position. With an aesthetic reminiscent of the 1960s, the Supro Gold Field garners its name from its “field coil,” the product of two bar magnets spanning a steel baseplate. Clear like a single coil and bold like a humbucker, it’s an excellent choice for nuanced funk and vintage-inspired rock tones. Paired with two Supro T-Style single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions as well as a Wilkinson tremolo system, players will find no shortage of inspiring, articulate tones. |
| Built for both studio work and live performance, the Excel Giacomo Turra Bedford SH boasts a sturdy thin-line construction and remarkably comfortable slim-C neck shape. The model is making its debut at the Guitar Summit Show in Mannheim, Germany, where Giacomo is scheduled to perform and introduce his signature model. Available for pre-order exclusively in a custom Peppermint colorway. Available in stores around the world this October. |
