Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famers Daryl Hall and Todd Rundgren played the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, CA November 6th. Rundgren opened the show playing a set of 14 songs with Hall’s band. Rundgren played hits like “I Saw the Light” and “Hello It’s Me” as well as covers of The Impressions “I’m So Proud,” The Miracles “Ooo Baby Baby,” and Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You.” Rundgren has been a member of Nazz, The New Cars, Utopia, and most recently Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band (2012-2017) in addition to being an All Starr in 92 and 99. Rundgren has released 21 studio albums as a solo artist, three with Nazz, and 10 with Utopia.

Hall is half of the best selling musical duo Hall & Oates. Hall & Oates were inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Hall’s show Live from Daryl’s House launched back in 2007 as an online show and in 2011 was aired on TV. Hall has taken it on the road over the years. Hall’s stage was set to recreate the barn setting you see on TV. Over the last 16 years the guests have included John Oates, Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek, Cheap Trick, The O’Jays, Sammy Hagar and most recently Robert Fripp. Rundgren guested on the show twice (2009 & 11). Hall started the show playing guitar performing “Dreamtime” and played Hall & Oates hits “Out of Touch,”and “ Say It Isn’t So,” followed by solo hit “I’m in a Philly Mood.” Hall then talked about Paul Young before “Everytime You Go Away,” and switched to piano. Young’s cover version of the song hit number one in the U.S. in 1985. Hall stayed on piano through Hall & Oates hit “Sara Smile.” The song before the encore was another major Hall & Oates hit “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do).”

Rundgren joined Hall for three of the encore songs “Wait for Me,” his song “Can We Still Be Friends,” and the Delfonics “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time).” Hall closed the show with “You Make My Dreams.”
