CALIFORNIA ROCK NEWS

It was great going to The Canyon on a Thursday night to witness The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band –  a great band that played to a packed, appreciative crowd of people.   This music has withstood the test of time and this was a very entertaining show with lots of funny moments between the songs.   Good jokes, real music at a good volume — a little country, a little bluegrass and some rock – it was a great way to spend an evening with a bunch of songs that bring back good memories.   the musicianship was impressive and the band sounded great.  Upon playing a great set that was more lengthy than most headliners set times, the encore was very cool and included Mary Steenburgen singing BG vocals on “the Weight”.   Great show.
