Led by Joe Hier (Hollywood Bono), U2 Tribute band Hollywood U2 was one of the first bands on the inaugural season of The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands at The Roxy (June, 2013) hosted by Katie Daryl. They also played in the most recent season a few months ago for Season 5 at The Whisky, where the band rocked a solid 90 minutemperformance to a packed crowd at The Whisky as they replicated a U2 concert..
At the U2 Concert at The Forum earlier this evening, Joe Hier (Hollywood Bono) was brought up onstage to sing “the Sweetest Thing” with Bono, The Edge, Larry and Adam. For someone that pays tribute so well to U2, this had to be the opportunity of a lifetime. And given the fact that U2 will perform at The Roxy tomorrow, it’s an interesting turn of events. Maybe Hier will be back for that show, too.
