The tribute community united as the event’s Guest Host Katie Daryl of AXS TV’S The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands introduced bands from all four past seasons of AXS TV’s THE WORLD’S GREATEST TRIBUTE BANDS (top tributes to MOTLEY CRUE, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, ALICE COOPER, OZZY OSBOURNE/ BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC and U2) at the GAS LAMP LONG BEACH – the show’s proceeds will assist Larry Cornwall with his mounting medical bills.
As a repeat performer on seasons 2 and 3 of AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands, Larry played earlier in the evening singing in the role of Alice Cooper of Alice in Cooperland and finished up the evening performing as Tommy Lee with Motely Crue tribute “True 2 Crue”.
With so many bands and logistical challenges of tribute bands (sans a dressing room), the groups played abbreviated sets with ample time for the next act to set up and perform.
5:30PM OZZMANIA – TRIBUTE TO OZZY OSBOURNE/ BLACK SABBATH
Season 4 alums OZZMANIA started the event by paying tribute to Ozzy and Sabbath.
6:30PM HOLLYWOOD U2 _ TRIBUTE TO U2
Led by Joe Hier (Hollywood Bono), season 1 alums HOLLYWOOD U2 played U2 classics to the large crowd.
7:30PM ALICE IN COOPERLAND – Tribute To Alice Cooper
8:30PM BONFIRE TRIBUTE TO AC/DC
9:30PM THE IRON MAIDENS – A TRIBUTE TO IRON MAIDEN
10:30PM DAMAGE INC. – TRIBUTE TO METALLICA
11:30PM TRUE 2 CRUE – A TRIBUTE TO MOTLEY CRUE
